Artistic Staff

Dr. Michael Webster is known as a clarinetist, conductor, composer and educator. Dr. Webster is professor
of clarinet at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. He has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Aaron Copland, the Boston Pops and John Williams, Yo-Yo Ma, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, The Tokyo and Cleveland String Quartets and at many of North America's finest music festivals. He has served on the conducting faculties of the New England Conservatory and the University of Michigan and has conducted the Michigan and Asian Youth Orchestras.

Cristian Macelaru, violinist, composer and conductor, began studying music at the age of six in his native country of Romania. He has served as the assistant conductor of the University of Miami Symphony Orchestra, associate conductor of the Florida Youth Orchestra, conductor and founder of the Clarke Chamber Players. He attended Interlochen Arts Academy where he furthered his studies in both violin and conducting. Macelaru received a bachelor of music degree from the University of Miami and a master of music degree in violin performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where he currently is pursuing a master of music degree in conducting.

Michael Alan Isadore is orchestra director at Dulles High School. He holds masters degrees in conducting and clarinet performance from the University of Missouri, Kansas City (UMKC), Conservatory of Music and a bachelor’s degree in music education from Baylor University. Isadore also serves as the associate conductor of the Houston Civic Symphony and formed the möbius chamber ensemble in which he serves as conductor and clarinetist.

Carolyn Vandiver holds a bachelor's and master's degree in music education. She is the orchestra director at Stephen F. Austin High School in Fort Bend ISD. Vandiver is listed in Who's Who of American Teachers and twice has been named teacher of the year. Her orchestras consistently receive sweepstakes awards at UIL competitions. She also is a UIL Orchestra Contest Adjudicator.

Ann Victor is the orchestra director at Sartartia Middle School in Sugar Land. Victor graduated from Interlochen Academy for the Arts and received her bachelor of music and master of music degrees in cello performance from Kent State University. She has completed the coursework for the doctor of musical arts in cello performance at The University of Texas at Austin. Her groups have continually received UIL Sweepstakes awards.
